CIRA was created in 2001 upon the recommendation of the E-County Task Force after more than a year of studying and discussing technology issues facing counties. CIRA is an interlocal government agency supported by TAC and dedicated to helping counties with their technological needs. The agency provides essential information and technology assistance to counties and coordinates with counties, state agencies and other entities to leverage resources. CIRA is led by a Board of Directors appointed by the President of the Texas Association of Counties.
Through CIRA, counties are making great strides and are establishing a major leadership role in Texas government technology. There is no membership fee to join CIRA. An interlocal agreement between the county and CIRA is required. For more information on joining CIRA, please see the Membership Information page. |
