From the Austin County Auditor's Office: In response to the C- given to Austin County by the Tea Party, Austin County has been dedicated to making as much information as possible available to the public as quickly as possible. Austin County is proud to maintain the highest award possible in financial transparency for 3 consecutive years through our website. The County Auditor's webpage has an easy to use link "financial transparency" to find all documents related to county funds. Links from there include current and previous year's budgets, monthly utility payments, disbursements, payroll reports and much more Contact information for all county officials and an "0pen Records Request" for anything you cannot readily find online is also available. Austin County has made the website user friendly by adding color coding, graphs and searchable files.
Austin County Auditor's Office has an open door policy. The Auditor has taken great strides to be sure taxpayer dollars are spent responsibly and made sure that any information regarding county money is easy to access and easy to read. Any and all questions are welcome and the Auditor encourages the public to be involved in county government.
